One day, Terri, Steve and Ed were looking for a reason to ride the train.  What better reason than to do a pub crawl.  So, one Saturday, we ventured to the Old Town Station to ride the rails.  Little did we know, it was actually National Train Day. We were greeted by a conductor who wished as happy National train Day.

Now, in early May, we look forward to the time to ride the rails, and to crawl the pubs of Carlsbad, CA.  May 9, 2020 marked the 10th anniversary of the day. Due to the pandemic, we were slightly derailed. Creative and resilient riders kept the tradition alive with a Zoom Train Day in 2020 (Julio, Annie, David, Amanda, Nick, Bridget and other spent upwards of 8 hours on Zoom.) And a Boat-Ride day in 2021staved off the cravings to ride the rails with good friends. 

Delightfully, 2022 provided the opportunity to finally log our 10th riding of the rails! And, on May 6, 2023, the merriment continued, and TD 23 and TD 24 were a blast with Rail Riders numbering close to pre-pandemic days for the 11th and 12th riding. Congratulations to all TD 24 participants, and to all those who have ever gone off the rails on Train Day.
